Rugby World Cup Trophy made a stop in Heidelberg

It was more than two years ago when "RWC Trophy" (so called "Bill") was shown to the public for the first time . . . at the opening game of Europe Zone Qualicifations, game Hungary vs. Bulgaria in Kecskemet, on October 6th 2012 (see some of the photos made by Czinege János).

Old Boys Hungary played at that day "the promotional pre-match" vs. EVRA - FVG Select Team . . .

Now again on the world "Trophy Tour" managed by  Lisa Hampton from England Rugby 2015 Ltd and sponsored by DHL and Land Rover, "Bill" made the three days stop in Germany (Heidelberg, Bonn and Mannheim).

Welcomed by the Mayor of Heidelberg Wolfgang Erichson and the German Union President Ian Rawclife in the Town Hall, one day after the RWC Trophy "awoke enthusiastic dreams"  by several hundreds of boys and girls at the Final tournament of U10 Baden-Württemberg Championhips . . .

European Veteran Rugby Association with seat in Heidelberg, represented European Rugby Veterans, was invited to take part at these celebrations of Rugby World Cup too . . .

The "Tour" is now on the way to France (Paris, Toulouse) to finish the promotion before the summer starts. The "next step" ahead of the RWC  follows with the "last part" of UK tour . . . then the World third biggest sports event can start.

Our photo (by Karl-Heinz Lörch) shows (left to right) Claus-Peter Bach President Rugby Union Baden-Württemberg, Alexander Widiker the most capped international player of Germany, Marko Protega EVRA Secretary, Kehoma Brenner actual flanker of German National Team, Kobus Potgieter, German National Coach, Ian Rawclife President German Rugby Union and the National Team captain - Nr.9 Sean Armostrong.
