One sports enthusiast named Leonid Shelestovich founded the first rugby club (1963) in this, one million big and the most important Port town at the Black Sea.

Today, 50 years later, ORB Veterans (established in 2007), together with the rugby veterans from Kiev, Lviv, Rostov, Sevastopol and Csinau (Moldova) honoured him opening the Memorial statue and playing his favourite game at Odessa Wave 2013 Tournament.

Although there were no winners, no loosers at the end of the day, the gameswere, as reported by the organiser Oleg Shanin, hard but fair, without "any conflict" during the whole Event.

The most of the participants from different teams know each other very well for many years, when playing "proper" rugby. For three teams (Lviv, Csinau and Odessa) this Tournament was the last "test" before taking part at the European Festival in Hungary, later this month.

The celebration day ended with usual "third halftime".

EVRA congratulate Odessa Rugby Brotherhood (ORB) veterans for their half a century rugby activities . . .
