Sixth Memorial "Zdenko Jajcevic" Zagreb 2018

For the sixth time RC "Zagreb" veterans - OLD LIONS organized this event, as the part of EVRA European Series, to commemorate great rugbyman Zdenko Jajcevic who dedicate his life to the development of Rugby in his home town Zagreb, Croatia and in former Yugoslavia . . .

Perfect wheather, excellent facilities and the hospitality of Zagreb veterans "gathered" four teams -  Farnham RUFC Vets L ´Escargots(the Organisers of EVRA European Festival in 2015 at the start of Rugby World Cup in England), RC Partizan Vets (Belgrade, Serbia), legendary rugby club that decided to join organised veteran rugby activities, mixed team "Sisak" Veterans/ZVRK and the home side of Old Lions.

For Farnham RUFC - L´Escargots veterans it was the first visit to Croatia . . . the Team leader Paul Brooker reported when returned home: "We are still recovering from wonderful hospitality, the proper approach to our veteran sport and the strong Croatian beer . . . we shall be back one day."

"Partizan" veterans formed recently as the Club, led by Milos Piletic, Aleksandar Jakisic, Club Secretary Marko Milosavljevic, brought the "mixed" team of former older interntionals and younger veterans, had enjoyed this traditional event too, thinking already about the organisation of one Veteran tournament of their own in Belgarde next year . . .

Home-very experienced - sides, Old Lions (with Tihomir-Tiho Vranesevic) and ZVRK Zagreb, together with RC Sisak Vets (with Denis Velickovic - Kirby), showed once again the capability to organize a "great Rugby day" dedicated to their "Rugby teacher and friend", late Zdenko Jajcevic.

EVRA European Series plaques had been presented to the Oldest Memorial Player - Josip Radovic (RC Sisak Veterani) and to the new RC "Zagreb" President Zelic Tvrtko, for the remembering on this successfull "old rugby event".
