Pobednik – Mozzart Ragbi Klub as one of the “youngest” in Serbia inaugurated the Licor Beirao Veteran Tournament with the participation of the players from Belgrade (Pobednik RK and Partizan RK), Pancevo (RK Dinamo Veterani), Starcevo (Borac RK), Nis ( Nis RK), Krusevac ( Krusevac RK), and Zarkovo (Mosquitos 35+).
Very good response from the existing rugby clubs guarantees that this first step to establish veteran event in the Serbian capital has made the important step.
Tournament organiser Marko Jovanovic and EVRA Secretary Marko Protega thanked all veterans for this successful “first effort” that ended with the Award ceremony and the usual “third halftime”.
Special awards gone to the heaviest player – Dejan Milisavljevic (Pobednik RK) 141 kg and to the oldest one – Miodrag Danilovic (RK Dinamo Veterani), 61 years.
All games had been “guided” by the brothers Predrag and Dejan Stiglic, both FIRA/AER international referees.
“See you in June 2014 again” was the message and invitation, not only to the Serbian rugby veteran players.
