Elio De Anna (27 caps, 1972 - 1980), on the left and Marko Protega (18 caps, 1968 - 1974) on the right, photo of the one of Italian and one of former Yugoslavia rugby legends was taken last month in Fontanafredda (Italy) during the traditional Rugby Festival.

On November 26th 1972 in Aosta Elio played his first ever match for Italy vs. Yugoslavia in FIRA Championships - Group B.Marko captained Yugoslav team that lost that game in "the last seconds“ (13:12) after the successful penalty kick by Italians - just before it was 12:10 for visiting national side, nobody could believe what happened  . . . this was one of the best ever games of the national side of the former country . . .

Elio and Marko met again in 2010, after 38 years when Trieste was the candidate for European Veteran Festival. On that occasion they "swore“ to try to give back to Rugby a part of all what this Sport had given to them . . . both are involved actively with European Veteran Rugby, Elio is EVRA Vice-President and Marko is EVRA Secretary.

Both of them were one of the founders of European Veteran Rugby Association (EVRA) with the aim to contribute for the future development of Veteran Sport - Rugby all over Europe.
