MILANO FESTIVAL TRADITION GOES ON

Milano Rugby Festival is the biggest event in Italy and one of the Europe too . . . this year the Festival included 7-a-side senior squads (men, women) and a 15-a-side veteran tournament. It was a great success again - more than 20,000 people attended the four-days festival and over 19,000 liters of beer were served during the tournaments.

Usual charity initiative was organized  to support Telethon, an association that raise funds for research on genetic and rare diseases.

2015 edition  of the veteran tournament gathered 12 teams: Les Tritons Flingueurs (France), Sbagliati Old Velate, Chicken Rozzano, Coyotes Cernusco, Old Babbyons Settimo, B.old Cologno, Old Lecco, Takathani Asti, Ignoranz, Monza, Lupi Frascati (all Italy) and the Milan selection under the name "Obelix and les prostatics".

All the matches were played with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship by the all 250 participants in the tradition and spirit of  Veterans Rugby: Fun, Friendship and Fraternity. The veteran tournament was "won" by the Ignoranz veterans from Milan, who won the final match against Chicken Rozzano.

Giovanni Cairoli (64), the player of  B.old Cologno team, was awarded by EVRA representative for Italy, Rosario Biunno, as the Oldest player of the Tournament with special EVRA Licor Beirao European Series plaque.
