Málaga

Málaga - the southernmost large city of Europe . . .

Málaga, more then 2.800 years old town in Autonomous community of Andalusia (Spain), is lieng on the Costa del Sol at the Mediterranean Sea.

This city has been nominated as the candidate for the 2016 European Capital of Culture. Of course Málaga "plays Rugby" and the local Club has the veterans team too . . . All these facts had made Heidelberger Ruderklub 1872. e.V.Rugby Oldies decision about "2016 Tour" very simple . . . HRK Oldies were eager to meet with spanish rugby  friends - on and off the field.

The Team of 40 players & supporters spent the long weekend there enjyoing the sun, sea, rugby and good local food.
The game vs. "Veteranos de Clube de Rugby Málaga" itself took place at the big University Sports Complex . . . the "third halftime" was in the Clubhouse on which occassion sports souvenirs had been exchanged.

"Big Sheriff" Markus Leimert "dominated" the evening wearing frock coat, white shirt, the top hat and the walking stick . . . the "usual fine" procedure when one of the  players "makes a failure on the tour".

Landing on monday at Frankfurt - Hahn Airport the whole team thanked "with a long applause" the Tour organisers Uwe Treiber, Manfred Heede, Roy Francis, Jürgen Pils, Peter Zeh, Andreas - Andy Bieringer and Michael Liebig . . . for the marvelous five "Spanish days"

Returning home safely the preparations for the 4th EVRA Heidelberger Oldies Frühling in May had begonnen ...

Spanish "return visit" is planned for the Spring 2017 . . .
