In 2006 Old Rugby Messina "won" the first Memorial Maccarrone Tournament in Catania, that gathered also OLD SYRAKO (Siracusa) and OLD RAGUSA (Province of Sicily).
One year later O.R.M. 1980 started the TRINACRIA CUP for all Sicilian Old Rugby teams. The Trinacria Trophy remains, since 2007, in the Clubhouse of the "next" Team, Event organisers . . .The period 2000 - 2015 was also the very active one . . . on the occasions of Six Nations games in Rome, the Sicilian veterans played regularly Old Rugby games in the "Eternal City" and its vicinity . . .
Many of O.R.M. 1980 veterans are regularly involved with the management of local Clubs.
The "new" generation of Messina Veterans - organized as club SPARTANI MESSINESI, keeping the tradition alive, are organising the Memorial Torneo Old "Salvo Constantino", this Spring the 5th edition . . .
Both Messina Old Rugby clubs, joined EVRA a couple a years ago, as the active members they are supporting the development of Veteran Sports - Rugby in Italy - Europe . . .
For the O.R.M. 1980 40th Anniversary the Town of Messina, the Club and EVRA are working together that one European - International Veteran Selection takes part at the celebrations & Tournament on June 12th-13th 2020.
