TSV Rugby Oldies restarted Heidelberg tradition
After many years Heidelberg had again one Veteran Rugby Tournament. TSV Rugby Oldies with Event organiser Christian Kalkhof and his team and E.V.R.A. (European Veteran Rugby Association) attracted four teams to take part in this LICOR BEIRAO European Series tournament: St. Petersburg Oldies (Russia), RBW Oldies, SCN ´02 Oldies and the host team of TSV Rugby Oldies.
In spite of 29° C in the shadow all teams had shown "high quality“ of veteran rugby with the "help“ of two young referees Ian and "Laule“, who applied "oldies rules“ without any problems.
The Russians was the "best team“, played very collectively and with the "high level“ of fitness . . .
The third halftime at the terrace of the Handschusheimers finished with the exchange of the presents, good food and a lot of German beer . . .
E.V.R.A Secretary, Marko Protega lobbed the whole event expressing the hope that this Tournament was the restart of such "year tournaments“ in the stronghold of German Rugby - Heidelberg.
HRK, SCN, HTV, RGH are called to "follow this path“ in the coming years . . .
