GOLDEN OLDIES RUGBY

 


Referee Panel led by the President of PZR  Ref´s Association Wieszlaw Piotrowicz (Lublin) with excellent young referees Pantol Andrzel, Pawlik Adrian (both Lublin), Cezary Ksiezopolski (Siedlce) and Andrew Stevens (Amsterdam) EVRA,  enabled, with their high level of feeling "what the oldies can do in one game"what  made this Festival even more  pleasant and successfull.

The Festival Gala Dinner ended with Awarding Ceremony and the presentation of Jeff Butterfield Trophy, the highest Festival  prize, given to the team that had shown at most the "European Festival Spirit" - on and off the field. Making decision was not difficult at all - 2017 Festival JB Award went to the host Veterans of Miejski Rugby Klub Siedlce.

Festival prizes were presented to:

The More the merrier Award (for a team that had the most participants):
Galicia Old Boys (34 persons), La Corunha (Portugal)

I Would Walk 500 Miles (for the team that had beaten the most kilometers on the way to the Festival):
Veterans Rugby Moita (3279 km), Portugal

The Oldest Festival Player was John Wilson (74), RC Lousa Veteranos (Portugal).
He was awarded by the Organisers and EVRA, being twice in a row the Oldest one.

The nice end of the ceremony was the presentation to Marko Protega, EVRA Secretary, the Silver Badge of Honour granted by the Polish Rugby Union.

At the very end of the pleasant Rugby evening EVRA Vice-President , Elio De Anna (Italy) announced the Organisers of the 5th E V R A Festival ...

European veterans will meet in Belluno (Italy) in September 2019 and will be hosted by Town of Belluno, Regional Rugby Union of F I R and the Organisers I Fossili Dolomitici Old Rugby Club.
