MILANO RUGBY FESTIVAL WAS AGAIN SUCCESSFUL

MILANO RUGBY FESTIVAL WAS AGAIN SUCCESSFUL

Milano Rugby Festival (also known as MRF) has become to be one of the most important rugby events in Italy. The festival (a four day affair) includes:
7-a-side senior squads (Men , Ladies) and a 15-a-side veteran tournament.

At this years MRF, again as the part of Licor Beirao European Series, 8 veteran teams faced at the opening day of the Tournament:

Sbagliati Old Velate, Chicken Rozzano, Coyotes Cernusco, Old Babbyons Settimo, Milo'ld Pavia, Corsari del Granducato, B.Old Cologno and the french team Cougaramels from Piteaux/Paris.

All 200 participants played the games in the tradition and in the spirit of Veterans Rugby: Fun, Friendship and Fraternity/Family. The veteran tournament was “won” by the home-side Coyotes Cernusco that overcame Sbagliati Velate in the final match.

The 2013 edition of Milano Rugby Festival was a huge success again, with 15.000 people attending the four-day festival and with more than 18,000 liters of beer served during the tournament. Among the high number of visitors and participants, we would like also to point out that at this year MRF, we had the pleasure of hosting two well known Italian national team players: Simone Favaro, flanker for Benetton Treviso, and Carlo Festuccia who plays hooker for the Zebre team.

And last but not least more than 3.000 euro was raised for the charity to help the 3 years old child by the name of Jack, who suffers from spastic quadriplegia.
