"The British are coming" EVRA international tournament in Athens
Attica Springboks (Athens) organised also this year international tournament as the part of European Veteran Rugby Series . . . this time the guests were veteran players from United Kingdom.
Reading RFC - The Rhinos (White - Green jerseys) and Macclesfield RFC (Blue jerseys) and Attica Springboks played "round a robin" games enjoying "summer" conditions in the Greeks capital.
The aim of just "enjoy playing Rugby" was present all the time . . . Rhinos and Macclesfield were great sporting teams and great visitors that would be highly recommended to anyone organising a Veteran Rugby tournament.Nobody was counting the score, only the number of beers consumed at the third halftime . . . Macclesfield "won" there with Reading a close second!
Attica Springboks (Purple jerseys) as good hosts did also this time a "big step" in promoting Veteran sports - Rugby in this "small" rugby nation. Many thanks to all players, friends, relatives, supporters of Attica Springboks who contributed that one more time that Rugby "won the Game" . . .
It is to hope that such good "Rugby ambassadors" EVRA shall be able to welcome next year at the European Veteran Rugby Festival in Belluno (September 5th - 8th, Italy) at the "feet" of Dolomiti Mountains . . .
