"CAST TUPS" VETS - THE FIRST SCOTTISH E V R A MEMBER

Tillicoultry (Clackmannanshire) is the small town in Central Scotland, at the foot of the Ochil Hills, suurounded by the rivers Forth and Devon. The town was famous in the past for producing textiles, using "water power" from the rivers as the source of energy.

Rugby has played in the Ochils for more than 40 years at Hillfoots RFC, founded in 1971. The club has over 350 playing members and has been Scotland´s fastest growing club three years running.

In late 2014 the Club veterans side, the "Cast Tups" decided to join the European Veteran Rugby Association - EVRA - as the first ever Scottish club.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Hillfoots RFC committe have decided to organize a Veterans Tournament on Saturday 15 August 2015, as the part of EVRA Licor Beirao European Series.

After half a year of preperations, everything is ready . . . and in Beauvais, near Paris, France, at the Beauvais RFC 10th International Veterans Tournament which the "Cast Tups" traditionally take part in, the Hillfoots RFC veterans become the part of European Veteran Rugby family.

Eddie Inglis and Peter Norman, as President and honorary life President respectively, together with all the Hillfoots RFC comittee, are looking forward to welcoming any veteran team from Europe that would like to join the tournament to gain a unique "Scottish experience"  at the the first ever EVRA event in Scotland, on Saturday August 15th 2015 at their picturesque Tillicoultry home.

Further information avaliable from Peter or Eddie by contacting vets[aet]hillfootsrfc.com  Information about the Club can be found at Opens external link in new windowwww.hillfootsrfc.com.

EVRA Executive Board takes this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the "brave Scots" that have decided to join and actively support further development of veteran rugby both in Europe as a whole and in Scotland particularly.

Our sincere congratulations! See you in Scotland in August!
