Rugby veterans of Beauvais, small historical town north of Paris with about 50.000 inhabitants, had organised themsleves as a Club in 1999.
More than 40 years old tradition of Beauvais Rugby Club to play regularly the games with the French opposition teams from the countries of Five Nations Cup had been slowly "transformed" to the small veteran tournaments, first to be held in 2005.
From year to year "Tournoi internatinal rugby vétérans" became bigger and bigger. . . the 9th edition in May this year gathered 17 teams from Belgium, England, Hungary, Scotland, Wales and France, as the part of EVRA European Veteran Rugby Series.
Main sponsor of European Series Licor Beirao (Portugal) is awarding each second year the club that organizes "The most international veteran tournament". This year, with no doubt, the L B Award went to Les Independants and the Organiser Guy Quaranta, together with more than 250 volunteer helpers that enabled the wonderful rugby weekend for more than 44o players.
10th jubilee edition will be on May 30th 2015 - Be welcome to join with your Club the veteran teams from Six Nations Cup . . . and not only them.
