LECHIA Vets (Gdánsk) and GREY LIONS (Lviv, Ukraine) joined this year other teams in Siedlce to play and enjoy in Veteran Rugby at the new and modern Town Sports Centre, the place that is ideal as the “Meeting point” also for European Veterans in the next several years.
Peter Karas, Chairman of the Town Council, took again the patronage over this Licor Beirao European Series International Tournament.
Apart from two mentioned teams, ATLANT (Kaliningrad, Russia) and WFS SIEDLCE Rugby Vets took part.
After interesting and fair games Lechia Veterans “won” this Tournament, the Oldest Player was Alexander Lusznikowa (Atlant), the best “Three-quarter Player” was Andrew Kosyl (WFS Siedlce) and the most impressive “Forward Player” was Oleg Hryniova (Grey Lions).
With special prizes Peter Karas awarded Mikhail Kolyadzhyn (Lviv) and Thomas Radzikowski (Siedlce).
Tournament referees Marek Fedorowicz, Walera Matezuk and Cezary Ksiezopolski with their experience contributed that the matches had been played in “proper veteran attitude”.
The host team players, that also worked hard on the Tournament preparations, were: Zbigniew Wyrebiak, Wojciech Plichta, Dariusz Jaroszewcz, Krzystof Kisielinski, Jan Czyz, Grzegorz Pliszka, Andrej Kosyl, Ireneusz Greziak, Tomasz Radzikowski, Bartek Zagalski, Leszek Wegrzynowicz, Pawel Kuligowski, Slawomir Pieper, Marcin Grochowski, Mateusz Krzysczak, Slawomir Klosiewicz, Jaroslaw Borkowski II, Grzegorz Chomka.
Veteran rugby season in Siedlce expects one more interesting visit – on September 20th Les Blues de Gex (France) will be hosted by WFS Siedlce Rugby Veterans.
